Rammed Earth Blocks When Using Rammed Earth Tire Construction (like Earthships) Is The Soil Mix Ratio Fixed?

When using rammed earth tire construction (like Earthships) is the soil mix ratio fixed? - rammed earth blocks

I read that you have a 70:30 sand: clay mixture to make the tires, but the soil in my area (south of Houston) is a Vertisol clay. It has plenty of expansive clay particles, and a rather massive structure. If I to buy sand to this process, which could then buy the gravel, cement and concrete blocks to use the foundations and walls, which I plan to build. Has anyone an idea?

Note that in the Houston area, there are many insects. An adobe house in the Houston area that have some serious problems with ants, termites and cockroaches. It is better than ICF blocks (concrete-stone) and an ICF building hurricane-force winds to resist a very useful feature to the south of Houston. ICF technology law would minimize the amount of concrete required, since it is essentially a foam.

Warren does not seem to realize that Houston humidity is usually around 100% and that of Texas, he is referring only to the Tumbleweed backyard at Universal Studios in Los Angeles. Houston environment is closer to the marshes of Louisiana, where Clint Eastwood a gunfight.

There are quarries in the vicinity of Houston, stones, gravel or sand is a channel of the river or shipped from Korea. Recycled aggregate concrete is a big deal in Houston. In principle, all from Texas, Louisiana is an area of large river delta in the vicinity of the earth.

To help a little, I discovered that the best dose to use to fill the tire with its mix of excavations. The reason is that environmental conditions, the ability to resist, mixing the elements in their respective area are favorable. This mixture Eons local to become what it is, and extensive support and much longer than a combination of imports. (I do not know who imports a mixture of sand or outside your area.)

If I have multiple tons of mixed sand and clay as recommended in Ontario, was sent, for example, that the sand / clay on the decomposition of time / break / lose the continuity of temperature and dry environment of their country. Conversely, if you have the same in your country, here in Canada and there is the deteriorating state.

If you are still in a doubtful situation, then I suggest finding a local quarry and the excavation site would be willing to let a cargo of mixed sand. It may charge a small fee for the fee, but again, if you explain whatThey could even offer free of charge. Even to think. Try a local brew, but. You will not be disappointed.

I heard from a friend that is a "Earthship" home of the most important part of the structure has built up) (and boring is the compression of the tires in the mixture of soil / sand. He also noted that most people are interested in supporting middle-aged men and 20 women and 30 years. (Food for thought) were more interested in the project is successfully completed. They were also volunteers.

I hope this can help.
